Kaskad

Welcome to Kaskad

Kaskad is a decentralized lending and liquidity protocol built for the Kaspa ecosystem. It runs on Igra, an EVM-compatible Layer 2 anchored to Kaspa's blockDAG, and enables users to supply assets, borrow against collateral, and participate in on-chain liquidity markets.

Every operation — deposits, borrows, interest accrual, liquidations, fee routing, and governance votes — is enforced by transparent smart contracts with hard-coded safety boundaries.

Core Principles

Deterministic Lending Mechanics
All financial operations are executed directly by smart contracts. There are no manual overrides, admin keys, or off-chain dependencies in the lending flow.

Bounded Governance
Protocol parameters operate inside predefined on-chain ranges. Governance participants can tune settings — but can never disable safeguards or push values below hard-coded safety floors.

Verifiable Resource Flows
All emissions, protocol fees, and treasury movements are routed through immutable smart-contract vaults. Every token flow is auditable on-chain with no third-party custodians.

What Makes Kaskad Different

Kaskad is the first serious DeFi lending infrastructure on Kaspa — a proof-of-work blockDAG running at 10 blocks per second. It combines battle-tested lending mechanics adapted from established, widely deployed money-market architectures with custom protocol modules designed to reward sustained, genuine participation over short-term extraction.

Key differentiators include bounded governance that prevents hostile takeovers, epoch-based incentives that discourage mercenary capital, a dual treasury with an immutable 65/35 split, and a cross-chain integration via Hyperlane supporting 100+ networks from day one.
